I am head over heels for this uniquely handcrafted Chess set designed by Steve Vigar.  Its pieces represent the famous skylines of San Francisco, New York and Chicago while individual pawns replicate the diverse residential architectural styles of the cities.  The sets are made out of solid Zebra Wood and Whangee.  Whangee refers to any of over forty Asian grasses of the genus Phyllostachys, a genus of bamboos.  They are a hardy evergreen plant from Japan, China and the Himalayas whose woody stems are often used to make umbrella handles.  For a mere $2,100, I would place this Chess set on a modern game table in my study.
